This photo of a group of grim-faced Waltham musicians was taken in the early 1900s. It’s copied from a print which has hung in the Marquis of Granby for quite some time. And was photographed through its glass frame – which probably explains the poor quality.

Grouped around the two lady pianists are three violinists and two cello-players. The gent on the far right seems to be holding a wind instrument.
