This is the first of what I’m hoping will become a series of photographs of Waltham people and families.
The Talbots have lived in the village for a number of generations. The caption to this photo identifies them as (from left to right): Mrs Talbot, John Talbot, unkown, Joe O’, Old Joe (the German), Harold Talbot, MickO’Sh
I’m told Old Joe was a German prisoner of war.
Joe O’ and Mick O’ – the surnames should read O’Shaughnessy. They lived at the thatched cottage next to the church lych gate. This photograph was kindly provided by Mr. Joe O’Shaugnessy – who now resides in Ab Kettleby.
I can’t be sure, but I think the unknown girl is my Aunt Bridget who lived over the road from the Talbots
