Dennis Hurton was Waltham’s leading local historian. He sadly died some years ago, but passed on much of his enthusiasm and knowledge to his son, John. Back in 1985 – and with the help of his father – John created this wonderful map of the village. It identifies all the main landmarks within Waltham, including 12 inns and ale houses, as well as a wide range of local trades in the early 1900s.
