What a wonderful old house, with it’s thatched roof and wooden beams. It’s another copy of the various old prints hanging in the Marquis of Granby.
I haven’t a clue where it once stood – or even if it’s a Waltham house (although I’m assuming it must be).
Judging by the brick work and wooden beams, it must have been very old – possibly medieval or Tudor – even when this photo was taken (probably some time in the early 1900s).
Maybe someone will recognise the view (I wondered if it could be Rose Cottages). If anyone can provide any more information, please leave a comment below, or send a message via the contact page.
Photo: Thanks to Mark at the Marquis of Granby for allowing me to copy this photo.
