WHLG: First meeting

One of the aims of this website is to encourage interest in the history of Waltham on the Wolds. There was a Waltham Heritage Group some years back, but it seems to have vanished without trace. We’re hoping the launch of this website might provide the impetus to resurrect it.

If you’d like to get involved, please do get in touch.

Stop press! First meeting – everyone invited

Waltham Parish Councillor and Heritage Warden, Richard Snodin, is hoping to ‘kick start’ the new Waltham Local History Group. He’s invited anyone who may be interested to a meeting at the Methodist Chapel on Tuesday March 23rd at 7.30pm.

Richard has provided the following details:

PROPOSED NEW LOCAL HISTORY & HERITAGE GROUP.
INVITATION TO ATTEND AN INAUGURAL MEETING…

One suggestion which has already arisen from the forthcoming Parish Plan is the desire for a new Parish Local History & Heritage Group.

A Waltham Local History Group existed back in the 1960’s and 70’s, but sadly folded – now is the time to revisit this, and to gauge public support and enthusiasm for such a group. It is hoped that, if sufficient local people show interest, we can get this off the ground fairly quickly.

With this in mind, all those interested are invited to an informal inaugural meeting:
on Tuseday March 23rd, at the Methodist Chapel meeting room, Waltham on the wolds, 7.30pm.

Please do come along with your ideas and suggestions!
